Wedding Flowers in Winters, CA - July 2011

Nora and I are friends from our days at UC Davis, and it was such fun to go out to her parents' home in Winters with buckets of flowers and create arrangements for her wedding!

She wanted simple arrangements for herself and her bridesmaids.  It was a small order, but full of bright colors to suit her style.  It was pure joy, showing up 8 months pregnant with my older son, Otto, to attend a friend's wedding where I created floral arrangements.

Surrounded by family and friends, the wedding was so warm and magical. Nora and John have a magnetism that draws loyal friends and beauty into their lives which I always enjoy as we keep in touch over the years.

Nora and John's families are both quite musical, so there was lots of live music and dancing for the evening after the ceremony.  There was even a magician, one of John's friends who attended.

Jen and Khan's Wedding at Auberge du Soleil in Rutherford, CA

The sunny hillside in Wine Country was a picturesque location for Jen and Khan's wedding.  From the moment I drove in, I knew their special day would be one to remember.

Parasols served a dual purpose of providing shade from the sun and were also a whimsical addition to the atmosphere of the ceremony.

Jen and Khan chose a rose ceremony to celebrate their love symbolically as a tiny, closed bud which blossoms into a beautiful flower. Their love opens, like the rose, with the warmth of their souls together.

The wine ceremony celebrates the love of the new couple, blending their lives into one.

The couple had many children around at their wedding, and they brought a fun energy to the day.

May you have a wonderful life full of adventure and joy!
